Mission Statement
To enhance City of White Oak neighborhoods by making them a better place to live, work, and play and to protect the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens through efficient and effective city code enforcement.
Code enforcement enforces various codes of the City of White Oak Code of Ordinance through proactive enforcement and responding to calls from citizens. Code Enforcement staff also works with citizens, property owners, homeowner's associations (HOAs) and businesses to achieve and maintain compliance. Code enforcement is responsible for protecting the health, safety, and welfare of White Oak residents through the enforcement of White Oak codes and ordinances. This enforcement improves the quality of neighborhoods in White Oak.
Goals of Code Enforcement
- To make the City of White Oak a safer and cleaner place to live, through a cooperative effort between the city and its citizens.
- To provide prompt, courteous and professional service.
- To gain willing compliance.
- To encourage responsible property maintenance.
Common Code Violations
The following is a list of common code violations:
- High Grass and Weeds
- Junked Vehicle
- Parking boats or trailers in the yard
- Sign Violation
- Stagnant or Polluted Water
- Swimming Pool Violation
- Unsafe Structure
- Unhealthy Condition of Property
Report Violations
Residents are able to report a violation by using this complaint form. Forms can be emailed directly to the Code Enforcement Officer’s Email, or taken to City Hall. If a violation is found enforcement action is taken. There is a progressive ladder of enforcement that ranges from verbal warnings to written citations. All enforcement actions that require warnings or enforcement letters are filed according to date and kept for the required time frame as outlined by state law. Citations are kept at Municipal Court under the same requirements.
