Sergeant Stuart Johnson #107 – Master P.O.
Sgt. Johnson is a 1988 graduate of Gladewater High School. He attended both Kilgore College and Stephen F. Austin University. In 1990 he attended the East Texas Police Academy and upon graduation went to work at the Gladewater Police Department. While operating as a patrol officer he also spent a good amount of time as a K9 officer for the Department with his dog, Gunner. By 1996 he had promoted to sergeant there. He left Gladewater in 2002 and went to work overseas for DynCorp as an International Police Training Officer in places such as Bosnia, Kosovo, and Iraq. He returned to law enforcement in East Texas in 2007 when he was hired on here at the White Oak Police Department. In 2012 he once again was promoted to sergeant on the night shift and has been in that position since. During his years in law enforcement, Sgt. Johnson has accumulated many certificates and accomplishments. He is a Field Training Officer, the agency’s Mental Health Officer, a TASER instructor, was selected as an Officer of the Year here and an officer of the quarter in Gladewater, and has earned his Master Peace Officer’s License. Sgt. Johnson can always be depended on to make good decisions and has a calming demeanor that has, on many occasions, deescalated situations that were headed down a bad path. Sgt. Johnson cares a lot for the community he serves and his fellow officers.
